Artist Residency
A residency for BIPOC and Queer artists seeking time, space, rest, and creative renewal.
Rooted in care, collaboration, and imagination.
The Details
At Fable & Sow Theatre Farm, our Artist Residency exists to support BIPOC and Queer artists seeking time, space, rest, and creative renewal. Rooted in care, collaboration, and imagination, the residency invites artists to write, dream, move, create, and reconnect with their practice in a slower, more communal environment.
We believe artists deserve spaces where creativity can unfold without constant urgency. The residency is designed as both a creative retreat and an exchange, grounded in rest, artistic exploration, land stewardship, and community care.
During their week-long stay, resident artists receive:
Free Housing
Daily Access to the Gardens & Grounds
Farm Shuttle Access
Access to Current Farm & Theatre Workshops
A Basket of Fresh Fruits, Vegetables, and Herbs from the Farm
In the spirit of reciprocity, resident artists are asked to contribute three hours of support during their stay through light farm activities such as harvesting, weeding, or seeding. Artists are also welcome to join the farm's rhythm more deeply throughout the week if they choose.
The residency is part of Fable & Sow’s ongoing commitment to building an interdisciplinary ecosystem where art, land, storytelling, rest, and community can nourish one another.
Applications for the residency are now open.
