The Return is a scene study course for actors who want more time with the work.
Scenes are approached deliberately, with room to investigate the text, circumstances, relationships, actions, listening, and behavior through sustained rehearsal and repetition.
The Return is not a beginner’s course. Actors may be new to scene study, returning to their practice, or simply looking for a room that allows more time to work through material with guidance.
Where The Study expects greater independence and moves at a faster pace, The Return creates more space for process, adjustment, repetition, and discovery.
The work is not easier. The pace is different.
The Study, The Return, and The Agreement are part of Fable & Sow’s core curriculum and will culminate in a live showcase performance at the end of the Fall 2026 semester. Performance date, time, and additional details will be announced during the semester. Participation in the showcase is considered part of the course experience.
Location Notice: Fable & Sow programming takes place across our network of partnering spaces in Beacon, Newburgh, Cold Spring, and Wallkill. Class locations are subject to change based on program and space needs, and any changes will always be communicated to registered students in advance.

ACCESS & TUITION SUPPORT
An Ethical Pricing Clause for Standard Tuition
We want artists who feel called to the work to have a real opportunity to enter the room. We also understand that what is financially possible looks different for everyone, and that circumstance should not automatically be a barrier to meaningful training.
If Standard Tuition is beyond what feels possible for you right now, please reach out. When space and the sustainability of an offering allow, we are happy to explore reduced tuition and other ways of making participation more accessible.
There is no need to publicly explain or justify your circumstances. Simply begin the conversation with us, and we will meet it with respect, care, and honesty about what we are able to offer.
Access & Tuition Support is available for Standard Tuition registrations and is based on availability.
