The Return is an invitation back to the essential work of acting: listening, imagination, presence, circumstance, relationship, action, and truthful behavior. Designed for developing actors as well as experienced artists seeking to return to foundational practice, the course removes the pressure to manufacture performance and instead asks the actor to become increasingly available to what is actually happening.
Through exercises, text work, scene study, observation, and ensemble practice, actors develop a repeatable process while becoming more aware of the habits that interrupt spontaneity. The Return establishes a shared language and foundational practice within the Fable & Sow Conservatory.
Violence & Intimacy Designer Amanda Amadei will join the course as needed throughout the semester.
The Study, The Return, and The Agreement are part of Fable & Sow’s core curriculum and will culminate in a live showcase performance at the end of the Fall 2026 semester. Performance date, time, and additional details will be announced during the semester. Participation in the showcase is considered part of the course experience.
Ages 21+.
This course may explore mature adult themes and material as part of the artistic work.
Following registration, all participants will receive Fable & Sow’s Adult Participation & Studio Acknowledgment by email. The acknowledgment must be reviewed and signed before participating in the first class.
Member Tuition: $450
Founding Members may apply their $375 Fall Semester Class Credit, leaving a $75 balance.
Founding Member registration is handled directly through the studio so we can correctly apply your Member Tuition and available membership credit.
