Instructor: Amanda Amadei
Violence & Intimacy Designer

Led by violence designer and intimacy coordinator Amanda Amadei, this three-session workshop explores how actors can approach violence, intimacy, and physical storytelling with specificity, safety, and truth. Actors will learn techniques for executing grabs, pulls, slaps, falls, and other physical actions safely, believably, and repeatably, while developing clear practices for communicating boundaries and establishing consent.

Through physical exercises and scene work, participants will investigate both intimate and non-intimate touch, power dynamics, body language, cueing, focal points, and the ways in which posture and movement communicate character and relationship. The work asks actors to become more intentional about the physical life of a scene: not simply what a character says, but what the body reveals, withholds, protects, threatens, invites, or resists.

The Warrior approaches this work as both craft and responsibility. Actors will practice building physical choices that can be repeated with confidence while maintaining respect for their own boundaries and those of their scene partners.
